Guinness still taste good

First I just want to say thanks to everyone
for all the positive comments and love. You guys
are awesome and I'm so lucky to have such
great friends.

We didn't find Winnie- she found us at a time
when we needed her most. So thanks for all the love.
It's going to be a rough few days but I'm blessed
to have so many amazing friends and family.

Before the emotional breakdown last night- I went to the
Guinness Believer event in Boston. It was held
at Ned Devines and was a lot of fun. And not
just because we had free beer.

We got to try some free pints of Guinness.

I'm a crazy Guinness lover and actually drink it a few
times a week. I have a weakness for a well poured
pint of Guinness. And irish men- but that's a different story.

We also tried two other varieties of Guinness.
I obviously loved both and would drink both
at the bar. I even went on stage to open a can for the
cute MC of the event. By using my skill to open the can-
I scored another free Guinness. If you are keeping score-
that's 2 full pints and 2 minis that would equal 1. So let's
say a total of 3 Guinness' touched my lips.

I was lucky enough to visit Ireland in March of 2010
for 2 weeks. Upon arriving- I went to St. James Gate
to visit the legendary brewery. There is nothing like
drinking a Guinness at 9am.
I would like to note- Guinness taste the same here in the States
as it does in Ireland. So don't be afraid of the bold, coffee taste.
Also- a serving only has 125 calories. That's way less calories
than that heavy beer you've got in your hand right now.
So if you ever find yourself in Dublin stop in for a pint.
It's good for the beer and the 360 view.

If you are stuck in the states- drink a guinness.
It brings good luck and good looking men.
I saw a handful last night and tried to make eyes. This
move stopped working when I had mascara running down
my face. But you already know that story.

Two favorite Tuesday

Two Favorite Tuesday.
I wish it was called - I drank a delicious pint of
beer. But I didn't because I'm watching what I ingest.
Saturday is the free day. Which usually includes beer.
I wish today included beer but it didn't.
That's one of my favorite things but I'm not
counting it today. Maybe I should re-name today?

Anyways- all my friends are visiting from Lucerne
which is great. My job entails being part of a team
that all work from Switzerland. I am the lone wolf
in Boston. So it's alwas nice to visit and eat food
and drink beer together. Which is what we did last
night at Meadhall. A fav of mine in Cambridge. Over
100 beers on tap? Yes please. I had the shipyard
that you see above.

Ok- two favorite things Tuesday. Let's do this.

1- Hanging with friends at exciting events.
I mentioned I was going to Frozen Fenway over
the weekend. It was awesome! The weather was killer
and lots of friends were around.

Umaine won. Then I almost got in a bar fight. True story-
I kept reminding UNH fans that they suck. Bad move.
But I made it alive to the Baseball Tavern for a few
bevs (beer) with friends. Closing time came and we stumbled
on to the street and decided it was the prime photo opportunity.
Ok-I basically threw my camera at the bouncer and he snapped
a few shots.
Classy bunch of kids.

It was a great weekend.

2- Spin bikes at the gym.

Sometimes I'm a gym rat. And I eat really
healthy 90% of the time. Ok maybe 85%. But it's
because I seriously love taking care of myself.! I'm not
trying to lose weight but I do love feeling good
about myself and accomplishing things. Working out sucks.
Seriously- it does. But the after results and the feeling
of accomplishment is what counts.

My gym has these killer spin bikes. You can watch
a video and spin. It's like a class for one and it's awesome.
You do have to push yourself but I was sweating like crazy.

10 miles. Done and Done.

So I guess what I'm saying is enjoy
some beer with your friends and also take
care of yourself.

My first visit to the Chiro

I finally went to the Chiro! I've had back
problems for as long as I can remember.
rid of them. Nothing worked. I trekked to
see my new Chiropractor. I got cracked and
I've tried a lot of different things to getwalked back to work work 15 mins later.
Did it hurt? No. Do I feel better? Not
yet. But I'm hoping that it will improve
over time. Plus her name is Candy. I trust
her already.

The walk back was super nice. Look
at the trees!
After work I had my bi-weekly gathering
with the gals. We hit up Clover since it finally
opened in Inman. I was so excited! I ordered
some hibiscus tea since it reminds me of Egypt.

Plus they don't have beer yet.
They assured me that they will soon.
I assured them that I'll be back when they do.

I ordered some french fries with rosemary
So tasty!
And the main course... Egg and eggplant!
If you read me often, I've already had this.
But it's worth eating a hundred times. Plus-
it has hummus on it :)
After we inhaled our food we decided to head to
Trina's for a drink. We discovered that one side
of Trina's has become a sports bar! I didn't
mind but Katie wasn't happy with this change.

We ordered some beers and just chatted.
The selection was pretty good.
We all had the Pumple Drumkin Ale
I liked it. Not too spicy.
I had to call it an early night because I needed to
pack. And I kind of did.

Now I have to finish since my flight is in 3 hours!
I'll try and keep it real in Lucerne and blog.
Switzerland is a really nice place so I'll at least
send some photos out.

A love of hummus

Happy Friday!
Do you find it sad that we are constantly counting down to a weekend? Then it ends and you just start counting again. It's kind of a bummer.

Well, as many of you know Steve Jobs passed away. I found it extremely sad and it felt like I lost someone in my family. He was a profound man with an insane vision.
I stopped in Kendall where his stone is on the walk of fame.

I arrived at dinner with my gal pals. We went to Cafe Barada.
I immediately ordered a beer. Seasonal!
It was a good pumpkin beer. Not overly pumpkin-e.

We started with the sampler.
Hummus, lentils, baba ganoush and tabouli. It was heaven on earth.
I could have just eaten this with pita for dinner. The hummus tasted just like the hummus in Egypt.
It was authentic and freaking awesome!

Me and Katie shared a Texas sized falafel sandwich for diner.
Again- heaven. I love love love Mediterranean food. It was so fresh and delicious.
I devoured this.
I also made a huge mess. My sandwich was leaking oil everywhere.

We also laughed so hard I almost spit my water out. Instead- it just went through my nose.
Cute look for me.

We talked a little about life and my serious fear of death. Sorry- I can't go into on here. I'll have to go into all the details of my fear.

We did talk a lot about Steve Jobs. Mostly because he was so successful at going after his dreams and doing exactly what he wanted. If there were no barriers holding you back and money was no object- what would you do? It's a valid question.

We also talked about Hummus. I seriously love hummus so much. So much that I compared it to the Lion King and how I was smear it on my child after they were born.
Too much? Ok- I wouldn't do that but I seriously could drink hummus. But only the really good kind.

Now- I'm off for a Friday of work. Wahoo for the weekend! Enjoy- I hope it's full of some of these delicious beauties.

Birthday countdown: 10 days!

Life is good.

This weekend is good. Full of fun times.

I headed to Life is Good fest yesterday afternoon. It was a blast.
There were so many freebies. We had our fill of food and freebies. I also had some delicious beers. I found out that Magic Hat #9 is my new favorite (ok not my favorite because Guinness holds that place in my heart.)

We had some fun before the music happened. Lots of funny photos.

I had a chickpea fritter sandwich from the Clover food truck. Finally! I've been talking about this silly truck forever now and I found it!
It was a really awesome day. A festival full of good vibes... this is right up my alley. Plus the whole festival is about doing good for people and the planet. I love that!

We also watched some music. I'm super hooked on the Avett Brothers. They were the whole reason I wanted to attend this festival. They were incredible! I was screaming, dancing and jumping like a crazy person.
I love a good Banjo.

We had the best time. We finished up by screaming and yelling the whole car ride home. It was a serious positive vibe experience.

This morning I woke up still feeling positive. I went for a run. It was terrible. Honestly. I learned the following lessons:
1- Don't eat a big breakfast and run 30 mins after.
2- Drink plenty of water before. I cup of coffee and a swig of water won't work.

But at least I got out there and did it. I packed money for a coffee stop on my way home. I stopped at 1369 of course. Delightful per usual.

I'm getting ready now to head out to day 2 of Life is Good. Life really is good.  Check out what I got in the mail.
I received a free sample of mascara and lip stain from InStyle Magazine. Awesome!

I had a little baby lunch today so I could save room for beer and Lara Bar and Chobani samples!

Are you feeling good today?

Faux Exercise=Beer Time

I had the pleassure of having a friend visit Boston for a solid 10 hours. But you know what? 10 hours of hang time is greater than zero hang time!

I picked Troy up from the airport. I then proceeded to walk him 4 miles around Cambridge- hey, a girl needs her exercise!

Then after faux exercise it was beer time. We had to wait for Ashly to get out of work for lunch so we killed the time by having some beers at Bukowski's in Cambridge. This is the same Bukowski's that Lady Gaga visited when she was here. That isn't why I love this place but it also doesn't hurt.
Our waitress knew we loved pumpkin beer so she let us try a few.

I was excited. Troy was not as thrilled.

Ashly finally arrived and we headed to lunch at Tavern in the Square. We had some lunch... and more beers.
I had to say farewell to my friends because I was heading to the Sox game. It was fan appreciation week. I didn't get shown any appreciation. But it was still a lot of fun and it was a great night for Baseball.
I love fall. I think the weather is so perfect for all the best activities outside. It was a good night. Me and Jillian laughed about my search history on google...

When I said I loved Matt Lauer, I wasn't joking. And just to clarify so no one thinks that I'm a perv- I googled this because nobody believed he has a 6 pack.. maybe it's an 8 pack. But I had to prove it! I also needed to double check the capital of Wyoming.

Tonight I had a couple of drinks with friends downtown. Dinner was less than perfect but sometimes life calls for that.

I was feeling really tired tonight and not into it. I had to call it an early night and head home. I am going to try and get a good run in early tomorrow morning before work.

TGIF! What is your favorite thing about the weekend? Mine is sleeping in!

But I do have a great weekend ahead of me and I'll be heading to the Life is Good festival. I love love the Avett Brothers and I can't wait to see them. Do you love a good Hippie Fest?
