My first visit to the Chiro

I finally went to the Chiro! I've had back
problems for as long as I can remember.
rid of them. Nothing worked. I trekked to
see my new Chiropractor. I got cracked and
I've tried a lot of different things to getwalked back to work work 15 mins later.
Did it hurt? No. Do I feel better? Not
yet. But I'm hoping that it will improve
over time. Plus her name is Candy. I trust
her already.

The walk back was super nice. Look
at the trees!
After work I had my bi-weekly gathering
with the gals. We hit up Clover since it finally
opened in Inman. I was so excited! I ordered
some hibiscus tea since it reminds me of Egypt.

Plus they don't have beer yet.
They assured me that they will soon.
I assured them that I'll be back when they do.

I ordered some french fries with rosemary
So tasty!
And the main course... Egg and eggplant!
If you read me often, I've already had this.
But it's worth eating a hundred times. Plus-
it has hummus on it :)
After we inhaled our food we decided to head to
Trina's for a drink. We discovered that one side
of Trina's has become a sports bar! I didn't
mind but Katie wasn't happy with this change.

We ordered some beers and just chatted.
The selection was pretty good.
We all had the Pumple Drumkin Ale
I liked it. Not too spicy.
I had to call it an early night because I needed to
pack. And I kind of did.

Now I have to finish since my flight is in 3 hours!
I'll try and keep it real in Lucerne and blog.
Switzerland is a really nice place so I'll at least
send some photos out.

When I say Low Key

Woah- Sorry it's be awhile.
Life has been a little busy lately.

I had a busy week at work and
this week will be busy as well.

Last week is a bit of a blur. But I did
get a bit accomplished. Me, Jillian and
Maggie got together for a Mediterranean
style dinner to discuss Thailand, Cambodia
and the new addition of London to our trip.

This is going to be the biggest trip to date.
Most of it will be back packing and guessing
where we should go.
We enjoyed lots humus, cheese and crackers while
figuring out details.

Oh and wine from Italy.

Friday I took a half day at work to head
to Maine for the weekend. I needed a low key
weekend to relax and visit my family.

I also got to see Ariel and Katelyn for drinks.
I ordered the paddle and the bartender hated
me. But hey, for $5 it's a steal. I like trying
all the beer on tap!
Tasty tasty. I love the Liberal Cup!

When I say low key weekend- I really mean
low key. I didn't do much but sit around and hang.
I walked the dogs and the weather was beautiful.

I got up early for spin class today.
It was a killer class. And I don't mean good killer.
I mean I was in so much pain at the end. But they say-
no pain, no gain!

I'm heading to Switzerland this week for work.
So real busy week. I've got to get packing!

On another note- Is anyone else watching
Where in the World is Matt Lauer?
As you know- I love Mr. Lauer so I'm tuning
in every morning. Put Namibia on the list!

Pay Day Sushi

Last night I went out for "Payday Sushi."
Something to celebrate! We went to
Tapei Tokyo. It was eh. Not because
the sushi wasn't good, but because
I really have to be in the mood for sushi.
Otherwise, I'm trying to choke it down.
I looked over the menu. I always start with
soup or edamame. I picked the soup.
Mushroom soup! It was ok. A little bland
to be honest. But it did the trick. Then I was ready for my
 sushi.
Everyone got an array of items.

I stuck with just a rainbow roll. It was tasty and had
great texture. I think it was the avocado.
YUM!
This sushi was still not as good as the sushi I
had in Jackson, Wy this summer. That was
killer sushi! But it was still decent and it was nice to be
with friends.

I returned home for "Pay day groceries."
I took a quick trip to whole foods. Andddd
purchased something I didn't need but
something I wanted.
Don't knock the soy ice cream until you've had it.
It is awesome! And taste like any other ice cream.
But healthier.

Yesterday I got something awesome
in the mail.
A Kind bar from the kind people at Kind.
This in turn lead me to buy more at Whole Foods
last night. It was tasty. This time I bought a PB
and choco kind. Can't wait to eat it!

Well, Halloween is upon us.
What are your plans?
What are you going to be?
I'm always a last minuter and decide
at the last second. So it will not only be
a surprise to you but also to me.

Cheers to the freaking weekend

Cheers to the freaking weekend!
Amen for Saturday.
(this is me cheers-ing to you in my German attire.
The mustache is real.)

Anyways- last night I had a delicious birthday
dinner with my roommates. We went to
Highland Kitchen. I've been waiting
forever to go there!

We got there around 6:30 and there was already a wait.
They told us 35 minutes. Ok fine.
I got a drink- a Dorchester. Highly
recommend it!
(Don't mind my pink hand.)
But then I checked back in
after 35 minutes. They told me another 35 mins.
Ummm come on! But luckily the guy that seemed to run
the show found us and gave us free deviled eggs for
making us wait. They were tasty! Then we got a seat
15 minutes later. It was worth the wait.

We started with apps. Lots of 'em!
North African Dip Plate! It was my kind of
good time!

Ricotta and mozzarella balls. With honey!
It was a fantastic combo of flavors.

Katie also ordered the gnocchi but sorry- no pic.
It was awesome..

I was seriously stuffed but I had a dinner to eat.
I ordered the black bean burger.
I bit into it. IT is the best veggie burger I've had
the privilege of sinking my teeth into.

So good in fact that today I recycled the rest of the meal.
YUM!

Today rocked because I made a trip to TJ's.
I found two tasty items.
Hummus dressing and pumpkin bread mix.
I drank the hummus while making the bread.
Kidding.. sort of.

Also- I tried their new chocolate covered
potato chips. Get them! They are life
changing.

Later today I'm going to celebrate my birthday
with tons of awesome people. Can't wait to
share the night!

Have a lovely evening!

A love of hummus

Happy Friday!
Do you find it sad that we are constantly counting down to a weekend? Then it ends and you just start counting again. It's kind of a bummer.

Well, as many of you know Steve Jobs passed away. I found it extremely sad and it felt like I lost someone in my family. He was a profound man with an insane vision.
I stopped in Kendall where his stone is on the walk of fame.

I arrived at dinner with my gal pals. We went to Cafe Barada.
I immediately ordered a beer. Seasonal!
It was a good pumpkin beer. Not overly pumpkin-e.

We started with the sampler.
Hummus, lentils, baba ganoush and tabouli. It was heaven on earth.
I could have just eaten this with pita for dinner. The hummus tasted just like the hummus in Egypt.
It was authentic and freaking awesome!

Me and Katie shared a Texas sized falafel sandwich for diner.
Again- heaven. I love love love Mediterranean food. It was so fresh and delicious.
I devoured this.
I also made a huge mess. My sandwich was leaking oil everywhere.

We also laughed so hard I almost spit my water out. Instead- it just went through my nose.
Cute look for me.

We talked a little about life and my serious fear of death. Sorry- I can't go into on here. I'll have to go into all the details of my fear.

We did talk a lot about Steve Jobs. Mostly because he was so successful at going after his dreams and doing exactly what he wanted. If there were no barriers holding you back and money was no object- what would you do? It's a valid question.

We also talked about Hummus. I seriously love hummus so much. So much that I compared it to the Lion King and how I was smear it on my child after they were born.
Too much? Ok- I wouldn't do that but I seriously could drink hummus. But only the really good kind.

Now- I'm off for a Friday of work. Wahoo for the weekend! Enjoy- I hope it's full of some of these delicious beauties.

Birthday countdown: 10 days!

Faux Exercise=Beer Time

I had the pleassure of having a friend visit Boston for a solid 10 hours. But you know what? 10 hours of hang time is greater than zero hang time!

I picked Troy up from the airport. I then proceeded to walk him 4 miles around Cambridge- hey, a girl needs her exercise!

Then after faux exercise it was beer time. We had to wait for Ashly to get out of work for lunch so we killed the time by having some beers at Bukowski's in Cambridge. This is the same Bukowski's that Lady Gaga visited when she was here. That isn't why I love this place but it also doesn't hurt.
Our waitress knew we loved pumpkin beer so she let us try a few.

I was excited. Troy was not as thrilled.

Ashly finally arrived and we headed to lunch at Tavern in the Square. We had some lunch... and more beers.
I had to say farewell to my friends because I was heading to the Sox game. It was fan appreciation week. I didn't get shown any appreciation. But it was still a lot of fun and it was a great night for Baseball.
I love fall. I think the weather is so perfect for all the best activities outside. It was a good night. Me and Jillian laughed about my search history on google...

When I said I loved Matt Lauer, I wasn't joking. And just to clarify so no one thinks that I'm a perv- I googled this because nobody believed he has a 6 pack.. maybe it's an 8 pack. But I had to prove it! I also needed to double check the capital of Wyoming.

Tonight I had a couple of drinks with friends downtown. Dinner was less than perfect but sometimes life calls for that.

I was feeling really tired tonight and not into it. I had to call it an early night and head home. I am going to try and get a good run in early tomorrow morning before work.

TGIF! What is your favorite thing about the weekend? Mine is sleeping in!

But I do have a great weekend ahead of me and I'll be heading to the Life is Good festival. I love love the Avett Brothers and I can't wait to see them. Do you love a good Hippie Fest?

Food Hovering.

Another nice weekend. If I were wearing a belt- it would be underneath it.

Yesterday I headed out to meet Katie at her place and then we walked to Emily's new place for the BBQ. I think I walked 6 miles yesterday. It was also a birthday celebration for Joe and we drank plenty of beers and ate plenty of food to celebrate the occassion.
I basically hovered around this table for the day. I'm always a food hoverer.

We hung out on the roof. There were lions there.

There was also beer. It was clearly safe up there.
And a lot of talk about Matt Lauer. Yes- he has an 8-pack and yes- I love him.

He's on the top of my Holywood list. Look at the sexy squint and rippling muscles. How many older men look like this?!?!

Ok ok, back to the weekend.

It was great to see friends and hang out. I came home sleepy and out of it. I wanted to be rested for my day with my mom and Lily.

I was ready today! I got a quick run in and some pancakes of course. I was ready!

I met them in Burlington for a day of shopping. We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe so Lily could have some fun.
We watched the fake alligator. Lily screamed everytime it moved and refused to get too close.

Lily became a photographer and was mad I stole the camera.

But then she got her grilled cheese and life was good again.
We did some shopping and Lily borrowed my camera and took some photos. She will be shooting for National Geographic in no time.
She also took this awesome photo where she somehow caught herself in the photo.

Check her out. She also caught me catching her!
We had a great day! New Clothes and food in the house= Kandi with clothes on and not starving to death.

I love spending time with my Mom and Lily. We always have fun. Mostly because I let Lily do whatever she wants and my mom has to be the bad cop. I can't wait to see them again in a couple weeks!

I got home and was starving and whipped up something quick. I took broccoli, cole slaw mix, faux chicken and peanut sauce. Saute and Voila. Dinner in a flash.

I'm ready for the work week and my coffee breaks. They always bring a fun conversations. Last week we talked about non-negotiables in a relationship. I've come up with a few of mine:

1- You must love dogs. Or be open to loving them.
2- You must like travel. Or be open to traveling. Or daydream about getting away.
3- You must love food. I love to cook. Maybe you don't so hopefully you at least will eat what I cook.
4- You must enjoy being somewhat healthy and being outdoors.

I personally think these are all valid points for my life. Maybe your's are different. You might like cats or maybe you like eating and need someone to cook for you. Point is that we all have things we look for in someone/partner. In reality, someone might come along that doesn't fit the mold and our minds change completely.
